Like most people I have a difficult time throwing away items that are in good shape. 

If I can donate it, then it is easier to "let it go"

 Below is a list of resources for dfferent organizations that accept various items 

I have used some of them others clients have told me about.

All charities including Vietnam Veterans, Habitat for Humanity and The Salvation Army can’t sell anything that has
to be recycled, fixed or discarded. So make sure that the item you want to donate is something that someone would buy.
If they have to throw the item away then they have to spend money for garbage pick up!

Batteries: Call2recycle  enter your zip and they tell you stores that take dead batteries. Click here to visit the website and learn more

Books: must be in good shape. NO MOLDY or books that smell. Riverdale Library collects books each year starting January 15 through March 5. Call the library for current info 973-835-5044. Also check with your  local library!

Consignment shops: Check your yellow pages for consignment shops in your area

Coupons: Military families can use expired coupons for up to six months pass their expiration date. They will take un used
                coupons that you don’t use too!

Craigslist: You list items for free! You can sell or give away anything from furniture to books. I used this with alot of success. Just read all the information about scams. 99% of the people who respond are wonderful!  Click her for Craig's list North Jersey

CUMAC: A great place to donate school supplies, clothing and more. Visit their website by clicking here

DVD: drop off movies or television shows at your local VA facility, or mail them to DVDs4Vets, a national organization
              that distributes them where needed. Check out their website for more info click here for website

Electronics: PC, Laptops, ipods, MP3 players, PDA. Reduce our waste to land fills!
Eye glasses: Lions Club has a Post office like box in Wayne Post Office on Jacksonville Rd. It is yelllow.

Formal Dresses: lists programs that accept donations of new or almost new formal dresses,shoes, purses. I only see this organization in Chicago. Click here for the website

Furniture: Thrift World Outlet  732-894-7723 in Perth Amboy NJ
. I am used them a few times and will continue to do so because the
                     men will come into home and move everything on to their truck. Most other places you have to move your stuff yourself outside

                               You don’t have to be home and they will leave a tax deductible receipt! Have bags/items CLEARLY marked Lupus

Toys: Second Chance Toys: They collect toys twice a year: Nov/Dec for the holidays and April for Earth Month.
